A aquisição da linguagem por parte de crianças com Síndrome de Williams: Um estudo de caso sobre a compreensão de sentenças passivas

Resumo

Este artigo apresenta o resultado de um estudo de caso que teve como foco a verificação da compreensão de sentenças passivas por parte de uma criança com a Síndrome de Williams, uma rara doença genética que revela, nas pessoas com essa condição, um perfil cognitivo, comportamental e comunicativo bastante peculiar. Através da aplicação de testes do tipo correspondência sentença-gravura, observou-se o desempenho de uma criança SW de 10 anos na compreensão destas estruturas em comparação ao de um grupo controle, formado por sujeitos com desenvolvimento típico. Os resultados obtidos revelam um desempenho significativamente inferior da criança SW na compreensão de sentenças passivas longas quando comparadas ao grupo controle, o que sugere que a sintaxe naquele sujeito não esteja intacta.

Kelcius Rodrigues Ferreira, PUC Minas

Mestre em Linguística pela Pontifícia Universidade Católica de Minas Gerais - PUC Minas (2016/2017). Desenvolve pesquisa na área de Aquisição da Linguagem à luz da Teoria Gerativa. Possui especialização em Língua Brasileira de Sinais pela Faculdade Signorelli - FISIG (2013). É graduado em Letras-Inglês pela Universidade Estadual do Piauí - UESPI (2002) e Bacharel em Administração de Empresas pela Universidade Estadual do Piauí - UESPI (2005). Atualmente, é professor de língua inglesa no ensino básico, técnico e tecnológico do Instituto Federal do Maranhão - IFMA. Atua na área de Letras, com ênfase em língua inglesa e Libras e possui experiência em Administração Pública.
